BILLING & INSURANCE

What insurances do you take?

Bluffton Craniosacral & Tongue Tie Therapy, LLC is an out-of-network provider. If requested, a superbill can be provided for insurance filing or flexible heath care accounts. Our billing staff will file out-of-network claims with certain insurances if the patient has out-of-network coverage and the deductible is met, but this is determined on a case by case basis. Patients should also verify out-of-network coverage for occupational therapy with their specific insurance plans.

Why choose a private pay provider?

As a small specialty clinic operating as private pay, we are able to provide a higher end level of service and dedication to each patient we see. Patients have access to the therapist by cell for questions that arise during the week and support is always easy to obtain. We establish a close relationship with all patients we see, and many continue to stay in contact with us even after discharge! We genuinely care about our clients and families, and love getting updates over the years!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What can I expect as a patient of Bluffton Craniosacral & Tongue Tie Therapy, LLC?

All patients and their families can expect a warm, supportive therapy experience where we truly care about each patient. We will collaborate with other members of the patient’s team to achieve the best possible outcome. Years of highly trained therapy experience across diverse patient groups and settings allow us to identify and apply specific techniques and expertise to each individual patient to achieve unique therapy goals.

What forms should I bring with me to the evaluation?

Please print and complete the following packet and bring it with you to your first visit:

Pediatric form (ages birth - 13 years). If the patient is an older child, please complete infant questions based on their history to help the therapist see the full picture of development.

Adult form (14 years +)

Pediatric form (0-13 years)

What can I expect at the evaluation and initial treatment sessions?

A full patient history is taken at the evaluation. The patient and/or caregiver receives an overview of a treatment plan, will understand what Craniosacral Therapy is and how the fascia system works. The patient lays or sits on the massage table fully clothed and is assessed for body symmetry. The therapist will also feel for fascia restrictions throughout the body and craniosacral system. If an infant is experiencing feeding challenges or is suspected of having oral ties, a full functional oral examination is also performed. Patients and parents are provided with a complete explanation of all findings throughout the evaluation and a comprehensive treatment plan is determined.

Are written evaluation reports provided?

The therapist will provide the patient and the caregiver a full verbal explanation of all findings during and at the completion of the evaluation. We will address all patient and caregiver questions thoroughly and completely. In order to keep private pay fees as low as possible, written reports are not provided. Any written reports needed for other providers or insurance will be charged an hourly fee to patients before reports are sent.

What does a typical session look like for an infant?

Sessions for infants with feeding issues or oral ties will include bodywork, The TummyTime!™ Method, oral motor work related to feeding, exercises for developmental motor skills, and sensory techniques to ground the nervous system. Oral ties affect the whole body, so we use a whole body approach to treatment.

What does a typical session look like for an older child or adult?

The patient will lay fully clothed on the massage table for the entire session. Craniosacral Therapy and other bodywork techniques will be used based on the patient’s treatment plan. Many patients find the session very relaxing and some may even fall asleep. Mouth work is done on a case by case basis, as needed.

How long will my child need therapy services for a tongue tie?

Each case is unique, and the treatment plan is based on several individual factors such as whether a head preference is present, the child’s initial presentation of strength, coordination, and muscle tone, how quickly the child responds to treatment, and how consistently home exercises are followed. Generally, treatment will be needed for 6-10 sessions. However, individual situations may require fewer or more services to achieve desired outcomes.

Can I drop my child off and come back at the end of the session?

All parents are required to stay at all sessions, as education is an integral part of the process.

Are siblings able to attend the session?

Due to safety concerns, space limitations, and the need for parent involvement, we ask that siblings do not attend office sessions. This helps us keep a focused and calm session experience to reach goals quickly.
